Week 1 on 2.5mg!

Its official, week one is done! It went by so quickly it honestly felt like it has only been a few days. On day one, I had just recieved my medication in the mail. It was shipped to me from Hallendale Pharmacy, a very popular and trustworthy compounding pharmacy. I immediately unpacked it and was pleasently surprised by the level of care put into pack up the medication in a temperature controlled package. I do feel guilty that such a small vial and package of supplies needs such a large ice pack and box though. I also received alcohol wipes and a very large package of 50ml needles.

The next step was the most terrifying as I've always hated needles anywhere other than my ears. The thought of having to push it into was own skin was daunting. I made sure to watch a video on subcutaneous injection on YouTube on repeat several times and I even made my husband scroll along through it while I did each step. I first took the top of the vial off and wiped it with alcohol as directed and wiped off my right thigh. Then I drew in .25mg of air into the syringe and injected it upside down into the vial. I then painstakingly drew up the correct amount while fighting away air bubbles. To help with the pain, I had bought a "shot blocker" contraption from Amazon (it was a little painful to use and I was left with a lot of indentations in my leg). It has a bunch of little spikes that are suppose to trick your brain into not feeling the needle, and much to my surprise I didn't! I removed the needle from my thigh and immediately applied a bandage as I was slightly bleeding (yay anemia) and then rotated between lightly massaging the spot and applying ice as I bruise easily.

How do you feel about needles?

  • 0%OMG, keep them away from me!

  • 0%Fine, they're no big deal!

What came next, was a giant surprise. The very next day I already had appetite suppression. As the week went on, that continued, but also I noticed I never had any thoughts about bread or bubble tea. To already have the "food noise" blocked out is incredible.

On day 6, I felt absolutely starved, so I took my next dose a day early. I'm trying to get my shot day to Friday and currently its Monday with the day early dose. I will needed to take it a day early on my next 3 doses to get back to Friday. As long as you wait at least 72 hours between doses, it is safe to do.

Roundup

In these first 6 days, I have already lost 4lbs and a few inches on my measurements. I have always loved fruits and vegetables my entire life, but now the make my brain feel like bubble tea and ice cream used to. Thanks for reading again this week!
